God can Heal a Broken Heart but He has to have all the Pieces.

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Do You Have a Story?

HAPPY VETERANS DAY! I know you all have many many stories to tell and most of them very amazing and heroic. We thank you all for what you do for us, protecting and serving our country with great servanthood.
1 Peter 3:15-b16 "Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, but do it with gentleness and respect."

As followers of Christ, we are all made for a mission. To go out into the world and touch those both near and far with the Good News. The news of how they can have salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. He paid the price for us and God wants all of the nations to be his followers.
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of age."
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Sometimes it takes little small bits of the news over and over until the person you are trying to reach finally starts to realize they are in need of the wonderful life Christ has given us. It takes time and you must be prepared. Rick Warren states in his book The Purpose Driven Life that there are 4 keys to sharing your message. 1. your testimony 2. your life lessons 3. things that are important to you 4. the Good News
Have you prepared your story, your message, testimony? Our story is about life before we met Christ, how we met Christ, and the difference it has made in your life. Write it down and rewrite it again and again. Seasons change in our lives and through certain circumstances God uses us to grow and shape us to share the hope we had in him while we were struggling.
Acts 13:36
"For David...served the purpose of God in his own generation." Through all of David's sins, God still called him a man after his own heart.

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

We all need this salvation that has been given to us if we believe that Jesus died on the Cross to pay for our sins. We must have faith to give us hope for the future. Don't you want everyone to have the same kind of hope? If so, start writing your story.
I have started mine and will be posting soon. I am editing and re-editing! LOL
Here are some suggestions I have that helped me...
* write about how you grew up (in church, not going to church, what was your life like)
* write down any struggles, life changing events, or the time you knew you needed to seek God
* write down some things that you know God has done for you in your life, especially through those trials
* write down what you plan on doing with your faith, your plans for the future or your purpose in life (Rick Warren calls it a purpose statement) your strengths, gifts, talents, that you can use, what kind of life you want to live or things you want to accomplish-it can be about every aspect of your life, even your job
* last write down some names of people you can start sharing your story with
And remember to always pray for those people. You can start just by praying for all the missionaries in the world. I hope to one day go on a mission trip, it has always been a dream of mine. However, financial circumstances have not allowed for me to do that at this point but that is one of my purpose's on my list, what are yours?
I would love to hear your stories, please comment if you would like to share, you never know whose life you may touch!

And one last thing, you may notice I changed the layout on my blog. I just love the header, reminds me of what it may be like to walk through the wonderful gates of heaven!
With Love,
